A Testimony of Healing and Praise from Cheri Hewgley
Does God still do miracles? I can honestly say with a shout Amen, yes He does! This has been one of the hardest years in my life. In April I got covid and had 19 days of what I would call the worst sick I've ever been. On the heels of covid I also got pneumonia and spent another month in bed. After the chest x-ray, I was sent for a mammogram I had missed having one for 4 years. I tried to blame covid but my doctor called me on that bluff. When I went for the mammogram it was determined that there was something there that hadn't been there before. So it was decided I would have a biopsy. While praying one day about the upcoming biopsy I heard the Lord say to me, there is no reason to fear I am going to show you Myself in a mighty way in this, don't partner with this diagnosis, don't take on any of it, I didn't give it to you. No yolk is yours except what I give you and My yoke is easy and My burden is light. I am not causing it nor am I allowing it but I will teach you in the waiting in this diagnosis. I will use this to be glorified in you and through you it will not wasted. After the biopsy it was determined that it was cancer, did I question God a bit oh absolutely but continued to stand on what He had said. Through a series of events we now also had a new place in my throat that needed biopsy also. In the words of the technician there's a very Sinister looking growth in your throat. A lot of praying went on in that next month as I waited for my biopsy date to arrive. An entire team of Friends Church family and prayer warriors lifted me to God in prayer for the whole month. The day of the biopsy on my throat the same technician prepped me and got me all ready for the doctor to come in and do his part, but as she looked for it and looked again this Sinister Mass had shrunk to two tiny spots of nothing. When the doctor came in he said to me and I quote, "well my dear they seem to have melted away I do believe you are going to live along and prosperous life go and enjoy it and do great things. So that biopsy never happened because God shrunk it, now do I dare believe that God would also take care of the cancer in my breast. Well I did dare to believe it, the two oncologists that I had been working with told me that I MUST get radiation and I MUST take this cancer pill in order for it to be stopped and if I didn't there was a twenty-five to thirty percent chance of it coming back. I prayed and felt very strongly not to do either. Was I scared? Yes! Did I trust myself? No! But did I trust the word God had given me? Totally! One of the doctors had put me in a special study they were doing to see the likeliness of that cancer sample they removed coming back in the next 10 years. I don't think I'll ever forget the day that doctor called me he was stunned. He said it's very strange we've never had numbers come back this low before we can't understand it, I said I can, I had a whole team of Prayer Warriors praying for me, and he said well you certainly had something that's for sure because your chance of this cancer coming back in the next 10years is 3% and honestly I cannot suggest that you do any treatment. There's nothing to treat, so I really have nothing more to offer you that's better than what you're already doing. So the question I asked at the beginning does prayer still work! Yes! Does God still do Miracles, absolutely. I praise Him everyday for His word that says, For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, " plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

A Praise and Testimony by Debbie Gardner
Five years ago I was living in a women's shelter with over eighty other angry and broken women. Constant arguments and tears filled the building which made it very difficult to stay positive and move forward with my life. We had to be out of the shelter by 10:30am and could not return until 3:30pm. This is when I began spending my days at the Coffee Pot. The Coffee Pot was a place Gordon and Kathy Angell, through God's grace, created where they fed and clothed the homeless. They made everyone feel welcome and I felt at peace every time I was there. Gordon and Kathy would share stories of Jesus and what an impact God had in their lives. They would pray with us and over us when our troubles became too much to bear. I looked forward to my time at the Coffee Pot so much that I began calling it my happy place and soon began volunteering my time there. I would watch Kathy speaking to the people and leading them towards Jesus and think how wonderful it would be to do good things, pleasing to the Lord. I couldn't even imagine God using me in that way. One morning while I was getting myself ready to leave the shelter, I felt a woman watching me. I gave her a quick smile and turned away hoping to avoid contact with her. I left the shelter and began my walk to the Coffee Pot, excited to begin my day in my happy place. While walking I felt as if I were being followed. I turned and saw that same woman some distance behind me with an odd look on her face. I continued walking saying a silent prayer to keep me safe from harm as it was obvious this woman had her attention on me and I didn't know why. When I got to the Coffee Pot, the woman approached me and admitted she was watching and following me only because she wanted to know what kept the smile on my face. She said every time she

looked at me she saw such light and she wanted some of that too. I was able to share with her how I came to Jesus and how He kept my hopes up even in a shelter. After that, Kathy and I prayed with her. She was led through the prayer of salvation and I remember the tears as she prayed and how bright a smile she had when she left. I also remember how good it felt to have God use a sinner like me to bring another to salvation. Five years later, I still volunteer my time to the Coffee Pot and it is still my happy place.

The Dog Story
The fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Many years back we lived in probably the biggest mobile home park I've ever seen, Sun Valley, a city in Nevada surrounded by desert and on the other side of the hill was Reno, and between Reno and Carson City we had met a precious couple, Art and Joan. It was a long way from Sun Valley. One day a dog came up onto our porch and laid down and stayed there. It would not leave. Such a precious dog and by the end of the day I was ready to present my case and ask my husband if we could keep that dog. I just loved that dog. My husband took one look at the dog and said, I think that dog belongs to Art and Joan. I said you've never seen their dog before and he told me he thought he saw the back of the dog one time as he walked up the front porch steps over the fence. I knew my husband was often led by the Lord though the likelihood was so remote naturally speaking but he had a feeling that that was their dog and he said maybe they moved here . He looked up

the telephone number and sure enough they had moved to Sun Valley! Their dog was indeed lost. They lived several long blocks away from us now. Had the dog gone to the open desert it might not have been found. We knew it was a miracle that it came to our porch and stayed. We took the dog home and their teenage son was overjoyed. He had been praying to the Lord for the dog's safe return. He loved that dog very much. It was nothing short of a miracle and we all knew it. The young man's prayers were answered. The fervent prayer of a righteous man, in this case, a teen, avails much. Thank You Lord.

James 5:16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

A Teaching and Testimony by Debbie Gardner
One day the arthritis in my neck and back was so terrible that I could barely move my body. While sitting on my bed, trying to think of something to make the pain go away, thoughts of smoking pot came to my mind. I then thought of how Jesus helped me overcome my addiction when He told me He could do more for me than that bong hit ever could. But thoughts of getting stoned didn't stop. They were like a voice in my head telling me it would be okay; telling me that I knew it would make me feel better. It became so persistent that I wasn't able to think about anything else and as I argued with myself, my body became even more tense and hurting even more. Jesus had told me He could do more for me than pot could and I didn't want to get stoned so why couldn't I stop thinking about it? I realized it was the devil using my pain to tempt me away from the promises the Lord made me. I became very angry and I shouted out to the devil, "Get out of my head devil! Get away from me and get out of my home! I am a child of God!! Jesus told me He could do more for me than drugs could and I believe Him! You have no place here with me!" When I was done saying what I had to say and I calmed down I felt such a peaceful victory come over me. There were no more voices in my head telling me to do wrong. The devil had fled from me!
James 4:7 (ESV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Believe this Scripture! I know it's true because I have lived it.

H2O Meeting on Tuesday nights at Freedom Foursquare Church, 660SE 160th Ave. Portland, OR. Starts at 7:00pm, snack and teaching. Touches on how most people are dealing with something in their lives, whether overeating, social networking, etc..., in which something good has become something harmful from overdoing it. H2O has a weekly speaker sharing how they have come through and how the Spirit of the Lord has changed and helped them surrender that form of addiction. The person sharing will open the meeting up to interaction with each other, sharing what is on their hearts...but most importantly it is introducing Jesus and having a place without judgment to come to and build true authentic relationships.
